Even our service pup gets certified spring water from a local / regional spring. Until there’s an (affordable) at-home water filtration system that can remove drug metabolites, heavy metals, plastic / glass / silica micro-particles smaller than a specific size (micron filtration) and can ensure the end-stage product isn’t going to disaffect my health inadvertently due to inability to purify to the same levels of that of fresh spring water straight from the source (after the UV / reverse osmosis processes to ensure there’s no bacteria, viruses, silt, parasites, etc.), I’m sticking with certified spring water. Not only does that cut waaaaay down on how many we use monthly, it saves $$$.

There’s nothing wrong with plastic bottles - just don’t use them once & toss them! We use our single-use water bottles ~3-5 times before recycling. I’m all for doing my part to save the environment & preserve our home planet, but I’m also all about doing what’s best & healthiest for myself & my family. It’s not pure causation, but there’s a lot of correlation, that’s for sure. It’s believed that this is in-part why kids are hitting puberty so much sooner than previous generations. Not just drugs - but hormones from things like hormone therapy (testosterone replacement for aging / ill men, trans persons engaged in hormone therapy, hormone blockers, etc.) is also a real issue. If you want to really freak yourself out, Google and see how many drugs & compounds that are floating around in the public water (drinking water) supply. Many pharmaceutical drugs cannot be effectively filtered out of tap water there’s many, many studies & articles on this to be found online - in the UK, they figured out that the population uses / abuses more cocaine than any other country (per capita) by monitoring / testing the levels of cocaine metabolites & other insoluble cutting compounds known to be used almost exclusively as a bulking agent for cocaine. This is a fairly under-informed opinion regarding tap water purity & health benefits.
